Application steps are as follows:

1. Complete the ACE electronic application form at www.acenz.net.nz.

2. Attach a copy of your most recent and up to date CV under the "Documents" section. 

3. Obtain references from referees you have entered in your ACE electronic application form.
a. Referees must be a Consultant or a GP who has observed your clinical work in a New Zealand health setting or   in a comparable health setting as defined by the Medical Council of New Zealand.
b. References must not be from rotations that was completed more than 2 years ago 

4. POST certified hard copies of your residency documents to the ACE centre. Residency documents can be:
a. Photo page of New Zealand passport OR
b. Photo page of an overseas passport accompanied by the relevant visa page OR
c. NZ driver licence accompanied by a birth certificate or citizenship certificate 

5. POST certified hard copies of your official academic transcript to the ACE centre.
a. University of Auckland Trainee Intern academic transcripts are sent directly to ACE so the applicant is not required to submit this. However, the applicants may submit Faculty Transcripts should they wish.
b. University of Otago academic transcripts are ordered by the student at their clinical school. The original official academic transcript or the certified hard copy of the original must be submitted to the ACE centre.
c. NZREX applicants must submit certified hard copies of the pass letter awarded by the Medical Council of New Zealand. NZREX applicants are not required to submit university transcripts.
d. Final year medical students from Australian universities must submit the official academic transcript or the certified hard copy of the original to the ACE centre. 

6. To attach cover letters to different District Health Boards, you must rank them first under the "Preferences" section.

• Original documents will NOT be returned hence please do not send your passport, birth certificate or citizenship certificate.
  
• Copies of residency documents and academic transcripts MUST be certified by the Justice of the Peace, Lawyer, Court Registrar or a Public Notary. You may bring in to original documents directly to the ACE centre to have it validated for the ACE scheme.
  
• All the steps outlined above must be completed and the required documents received by the ACE centre before 5 p.m. GMT+12:00 on 28 June 2010. There will be NO EXCEPTIONS to this as we are working within national timeframes. (i.e. Delay in postage is not an acceptable excuse).
